Or, they're really holding on to this mystery aspect and the full game has a bunch of shit we haven't seen yet (the pure optimist take). Either that what we're seeing is all that they really have and the full game doesn't actually do much more (which is the pure cynical take that's sadly been the case with past titles). Now, there are two clear routes I could take this as. I was expecting a bit more with us being less than three months out. The thing that usually sells the game on its scope and presentation. We didn't really learn anything new here and this was suppose to be thestory trailer. Hell, even with stuff I'm generally positive about like the story I'm sort of at odds with. Stuff that others in this topic have covered already so I won't drag on about here. Then you go into the obvious issues like GHZ and Sky Sanctuary again, the overworld continuing to look last gen at best, sonic moving so stiffly, ect. I like most of the ideas on display, love the direction, but other than that what I'm seeing is just "fine". Not so much because I believe it's going to be amazing (I trust Flynn but not ST and you need too strong halves for this), but the fact that they're even trying at all is keeping my interest perked.
Or, the idea of them actually taking the story seriously this time around. Like, most of my positives seem to center around the base concepts like "hey, I like 3D boost segments because I'm a stupid boost fanatic lol". don't really have that many strong thoughts on this trailer one way or another. Maybe it's just me being tired after a long ass day at work or it really is pure indifference with where this series is going nowadays but I just. I don't know what it is with me these days.
